The Party-n-Play study was interested in finding out about how and why gay, bisexual, two-spirit, queer and other men who have sex with men (MSM) use drugs when having sex. We conducted interviews with men who live in the Greater Toronto Area. We wanted to learn more about the role that drugs during sex play for men who have sex with other men, in particular for men who Party-n-Play.
While taking part in this study, study participants were asked to answer questions about the following issues: their (and other men’s) sexual behaviours, use of drugs in general and more specifically, experiences with sex while under the influence of drugs. Study participants were also asked questions about their experiences with healthcare providers.
This study was led by a doctoral candidate Rusty Souleymanov (Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto) and Dr. David J. Brennan (Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto).
